The Friday Five: New arrivals for Drake's room, a sneak peek at our maternity photos and more

We all know that shipping delays and long lead times are a real pain right now and designing two new children's rooms during this time has been a bit frustrating. But I am happy to report that we received not one, but two new items for Drake's room this week! I ordered both of these items months ago (thankfully!) and am so happy to have them here. First this gorgeous double cloth blanket from West Elm. It's so pretty while also having a cozy, worn in feeling. He's far too young to appreciate it, but I certainly do! Second is this adorable applique monogram pillow cover from Peppermint Bee on Etsy. It is just the pop of color that his bed needed! Please pray for the health and well being on this very white pillow in a room with a three year old boy.

Our maternity photos are here! We are absolutely obsessed with our photographer and she has been taking our family photos since Drake was just six months old. Her style is natural and moody and she is extremely gifted in the "getting your kids to look + smile" department. Her work is absolutely stunning and she does way more than your typical family photos. Check out her work at rachelpourchier.com and on Instagram @rachelpourchier. These are a few of my favorites from our recent session with Rachel.

Yes... I am that person who makes their entire family dress in matching Christmas pajamas on Christmas morning and pose for photos and I am 100% not sorry. I love looking back at these photos and seeing how much everyone has changed and it's a wonderful reminder of a happy day. We have been wearing the same pattern from Burt's Bees Baby for the past couple of years and only buying new ones for Drake, but of course they decided to stop making that pattern this year, so I will be scooping up all new famjams for everyone this year including some fancy new bandanas for the dogs. Hanna Anderson also has some really cute ones and they are currently doing 40% off everything!

I have been all about my crockpot lately and when I came across this Crockpot Beef Stew recipe from Life in the Lofthouse I had to try it. I love a classic beef stew and this recipe was too easy not to try. I cut the recipe in half and used small red potatoes instead of peeling and dicing regular potatoes. It was delicious! I've said this before, but my crockpot cooks so fast! The recipe says to cook on low for eight hours and mine was done in less than six. Just keep an eye on it to make sure you don't over cook the meat.
