Shopping Small During Coronavirus

Coronavirus has been hard on everyone and small businesses are really suffering. Whether it's a physical location that has had to be shut down, layoffs, issues with logistics and shipping, or trying to run a business while also trying to home school kids - the list is long and when you're a small business owner the responsibility is great. We are doing our best to support small business during the coronavirus pandemic by ordering takeout, sharing content and placing online orders. I wanted to share some of my favorite places that are finding ways to serve their customers during this time. All of the below locations are currently shipping orders, so please take a look and consider making a purchase.

Okay...I'm obsessed with this place. They have the most delicious macarons and their storefront is to die for. It's a husband & wife team and they are the nicest people. I've gotten to know them through my work in economic development and they have a great story. You can read about them here. Oh and their Instagram account mac_lab is a must follow!

Just like any good southerner I'm a sucker for a cute monogram. I have gotten a couple of different items for Drake from this shop and have loved each one. The business is run by two mommas who turned their love of classic southern clothing into a way to stay home with their babies while supporting their families. If you've seen our snarky doormat about making the dogs bark then you know how awesome and hilarious Fox & Clover is. I found them on Etsy and while I don't know them personally, based on the high level of sarcasm present in most of their products I think we would be friends. They've even added products to their shop about being an essential and yes... Tiger King.

Okay...obviously I'm throwing this one in here for Neil. He loves this place and talks about it all the time. He makes special trips to support them & has participated in tournaments sponsored by them. They're a great local business and they host classes as well. If you have an outdoors man in your life then check them out.

This is the cutest little boutique in downtown Sugar Hill. They have beautiful clothing pieces, shoes, jewelry and baby gifts. Last time I was in the owner had her new baby girl there. They are the cutest family and so nice. Visit their website, sign up for emails + get 15% off your first online order.

I have been following Sarah Liz Boutique on Instagram for a while and they have the cutest stuff! They carry items in a lot different styles that appeal to a large audience. You can sign up for emails + use code NEW10 for 10% off your first online order and use code FREESHIP for free shipping!

If you have not heard about how hard the flower industry has been hurt by the coronavirus do a quick online search. It's devastating. Farmgirl flowers makes the MOST beautiful arrangements and bouquets. In this time they are finding new ways to support their business and serve their customers by selling non-perishable (NON/PER) items. They've got vases, clothing, jewelry and cute little gift boxes.

If you have the funds and are looking for ways to help during coronavirus shopping small is an easy place to start. I know there are a million other small businesses that I don't know about, but would love to support. Share your favorites with me in the comments!
