My Top Registry Picks for Baby Number Two

I am mere days away from my third trimester with baby #2 and I absolutely can not believe how fast it has flown by! This will likely be our last baby, so I am sitting somewhere in between savoring this season and wishing it was over so that we could have her here with us (and I can have a margarita again!)

For some reason I was completely shocked that this baby was a girl. We have never had a preference for our children's gender, but I thought for sure that I was destined to be a boy mom. We are so excited to welcome a little girl into our family, but a different gender does bring some different needs when it comes to our baby registry.

I did a TON of research when I was putting together my registry for Drake and was very happy with most of the items we chose. There were some duds, like our monitor and the infamous Rock 'n Play, and some items that we didn't get that I regret. This time around I stuck to the items we know and love and added on some new ones that I can't wait to try.

I used babylist.com for Drake's registry and did not hesitate to use it again. You can add items from any website to this one list and it is so easy to use. You send one link to your family and friends and that's it. You can also install their browser extension, which makes building your registry a breeze.

Okay...on to the good stuff. Here are the items that I'm adding to my new registry, as well as a list of must haves from my first time around...

  • Boppy Pillow & Lounger Covers - I already have these two items, but they are in "boy" prints, so I added some covers to my registry that will not only make them cute, but I love the idea of slipping them off to wash.

  • Hatch Rest Sound Machine - We do have one of these for Drake and are adding another to our collection. It worked perfect when he was a newborn and now that he's older we use the night light and time-to-rise feature to let him know when he can call for us to come get him in the morning.

  • BabyBjorn Bouncer - We did not have a bouncer for Drake and I regretted it. I have heard great things about this one.

  • Portable Bassinet - This is my replacement for the Rock 'N Play. This will live downstairs and be a place for newborn naps and a safe spot for baby (away from dogs + big brother) when I need to put her down.

  • Nanit Pro Monitor - We have never been happy with our monitor (If you really want to know what it is I'm happy to tell you), so a new one that works with two kids was a must for us. We almost went with the VAVA, but ultimately ended up going with the Nanit. I love that we can check in using our phones (even when we're not home) and I'm pumped about being able to track baby's sleep cycles & breathing.

  • Baby Brezza Food Maker Deluxe - Okay this is a bit of a luxury, but I can't waaait to use it. I used mostly organic jar baby food with Drake, but wanted to make my own. I did a couple of times, but it felt like a lot of trouble. This little machine will steam & blend your baby food all in one step! Mashed sweet potatoes, anyone?

  • Pipette Bath Products - If you know me then you know that I am all about safer, cleaner personal care products (Hello Beautycounter), so it's no surprise that I am choosing only clean products for baby girl. I have loved the Pipette items that I've snagged for Drake and can't wait to expand my collection.

  • Baby Busy Mat - I remember packing waaay more toys than we needed when we went out to restaurants because I knew most of them would be hitting the dirty ground at some point during dinner. This silicone mat has attachments that you can use to attach baby's toys, so they stay put and you stay sane.

Since Drake is just under three, we still have a lot of his baby items and will be reusing a ton (carseat, bottles, stroller etc.) including these can't live without favorites -

  • Velcro Swaddles - Do not let anyone fool you into anything different. The muslin ones are cute, but that's about it.

  • Baby Shusher - Sounds weird. We're obsessed.

  • A Great Diaper Bag - We have a Bella Tunno 7 in 1 Boss Bag that unfortunately they don't make anymore. Lucky for you babylist comes in handy again with their list of the best diaper bags for this year.

  • Water Wipes - A must to avoid extra irritation during a diaper rash.

  • Aden & Anis Burpy Bibs - I did add a few new patterns to baby girl's registry, but will definitely be reusing the ones from Drake as well. It's a burp cloth + bib in one!

  • Nose Frida - Don't knock it until you've tried it! When your baby is sick you will do anything to help them feel better.
