As we continue to renovate and decorate our house I am always on the hunt for a great bargain, or even better...a great dupe. I am still amazed at how dang expensive something as simple as a barstool, or curtains can be! There are definitely some items worth splurging for (maybe we'll get into that another time), but typically if I can find a "look for less" I'm going for it.
Case in point - my dining room chairs. I have been in love with this design from Amber Interiors for years...
Especially those chairs! Our dining room opens up into the entryway of our home and I really want it to set the tone for the rest of our home as soon as you walk in the door. We already have a great dining table and we moved our old living room rug into our new dining space. Next on the list was lighting (splurged for this one) and the chairs.
When I started searching for these chairs I was SHOCKED at some of the price tags I came across. $250? $350? $400? For one chair?! No thanks. Thankfully I finally found the perfect look for less at Walmart! Below is a comparison of the Pottery Barn Faith Dining Chair ($678 for a set of two) and the Walmart 2xhome Black Wishbone Wood Armchair ($363 for a set of two).
They're practically the same chair! Our dining room still has a ways to go (wainscoting, decor, etc.), but I am in love with these chairs and so glad I spent the time searching for a deal. The quality is great and although we rarely sit in here they are surprisingly comfortable. The Walmart version also comes in different colors. I love the all over beige. They come in and out of stock quite often, so keep your eyes peeled!
