Look for Less: Carved Wood Side Table

Updated: Jan 22, 2021

When I first saw this carved wood side table I knew I had to have it! I originally purchased this piece to go in our master bath. It held a candle, a pretty soap dish and some greenery. I loved it, but when we started decorating Drake's nursery I knew it would be the perfect side table for our rocker. We wanted our nursery to be gender neutral and this piece fit right in. It sits next to our rocker and holds books, the monitor (when not in use), and some faux greenery. It also makes an easy drop spot for bottles, burp cloths and other baby necessities when we're using the rocker.

The first piece that I came across was the Carved Wood Side Table from West Elm. I loved it, but at $249 I wanted to see if I could find a dupe that was a little less expensive. To be honest, I didn't think I would be able to find a comparable one. The look is unique and I was preparing myself to pay almost $300 for something to sit a candle on.

But World Market saved the day with their Tribal Carved Wood Accent Table. It looks almost identical! It's priced at $169 and I also used a coupon for 20% off when I purchased mine. I actually ended up liking the pattern of this one better, so it was definitely a win win! It's 18 in. high and is the perfect height to sit next to our rocker. It's also very light and easy to move around.

I love the way it turned out in Drake's room...

Are there pieces on your wish list that you're hesitating on because of price? Tell me about them in the comments and maybe it will be my next look for less feature!
