Our mini kitchen renovation started about a month into quarantine. Since then it has grown & changed and turned into a not so "mini" project. Here we are, about eight months later and I finally feel like we're wrapping things up. We have big plans for a full renovation in the future (new cabinets, countertops, etc.), but for now we wanted a cost-effective facelift that would get us through the next couple of years. Our biggest challenge was our countertops. They are a super dark brown/black granite and there reeealy isn't much we could do to hide them, so we decided to just make it work by painting the cabinets a mossy beige color(similar to the image below). It's definitely different than what I would have done if we were starting from scratch, but it was fun to take the risk and it has really set the tone for the entire design.

Once we are 100% finished (fingers crossed it's soon!) I'm going to do a full post on the process with photos, sources and some lessons learned, but in the interim I wanted to share the design board for the space. The first time I ever did a "design board" was for Drake's nursery and it was an absolute game changer. It is still my favorite room in our home and has always felt like the most cohesive, well-designed space. I don't have any fancy software, or programs. I just use the free version of Canva and it works perfect for what I need. It is so helpful to see how all of the pieces look together and keeps me from buying & returning a million things.
I'm loving how the space is coming together and can't wait to share! I've linked all of the pieces featured in this board below.
